I wish there were an answer I could hand you.

A place on a map. A sentence no one could argue with. A way to know exactly where they went.

There isn’t.

Some people believe pets go to heaven.

Some picture the Rainbow Bridge.

Some believe in reincarnation, or that life returns to nature in another form.

Some do not believe in an afterlife at all.

And some of us move between these ideas depending on the day.

I do not think comfort requires certainty.

Maybe what matters first is simpler.

They were here.

There is proof.

A worn place on the floor. A thousand photographs. A name you still say without thinking. A part of your life that would have been different without them.

You are part of the proof too.

Whatever happens after death, their life already changed another life while they were here.

Maybe one day we will know more.

Maybe we won’t.

Until then, I think it is okay to hope.

Hope they are safe. Hope they are free from pain. Hope that love is not as temporary as a body.

Not because we can prove it.

But because sometimes love leaves us with questions that only tenderness can hold.
